Pfeifi and Korkus are sitting on the carpet. Korkus sings a song:

"Red, red, red are all my clothes.

Red, red, red, that's what I love.

Why do I love everything that's red?

That's because my darling is a fire fighter."

"Oh no", says Pfeifi. "I don't like that song. I can't see colours. I find that song totally boring!"

Korkus stops singing.

Then Korkus starts singing again. Now he sings:

"Round, round, round are all my things.

Round, round, round, that's what I love.

Why do I love everything that's round?

That's because my darling is

a can end?

a beer coaster?

a CD disc?

a ring?

???????"

" ... a bottle cap!", jells Korkus.

Page 3

Pfeifi sings a new verse:

"Square, square, square are all my things.

Square, square, square, that's what I love.

Why do I love everything that's square?

That's because my darling is

a triangle?

a hexagon?

a quadrangle?

a match box?

??????"

Korkus continues singing:

"Scratchy, scratchy, scratchy are all my things.

Scratchy, scratchy, scratchy, that's what I love.

Why do I love everything that's scratchy?

That's because my darling is

a floor mat?

a pot scourer?

a tooth brush?

a Velcro band?

???????"

Page 5

It goes on:

"Soft, soft, soft are all my things.

Soft, soft, soft, that's what I love.

Why do I love everything that's soft?

That's because my darling is

a fur?

a cotton pad?

fabric?

a paper tissue?

???????"

Page 6

"Oh, that's sticky!", says Korkus. So they sing:

"Sticky, sticky, sticky are all my things.

Sticky, sticky, sticky, that's what I love.

Why do I love everything that's sticky?

That's because my darling is

a plastic cloth?

a rubber glove?

an old air balloon?

???????"

Pfeifi sings very loudly now:

"Sharp, sharp, sharp are all my things.

Sharp, sharp, sharp, that's what I love.

Why do I love everything that's sharp?

That's because my darling is

a pencil?

a fork?

a nail?

???????"

Now Pfeifi becomes pretty giggly, he verses:

"Rustling, rustling, rustling are all my things.

Rustling, rustling, rustling, that's what I love.

Why do I love everything that's rustling?

That's because my darling is

a candy bag?

a tin foil?

a cling wrap?

???????"

The next verse from Pfeifi goes like this:

"Bendy, bendy, bendy are all my things.

Bendy, bendy, bendy, that's what I love.

Why do I love everything that's so bendy?

That's because my daddy is a pipe cleaner.

And my mummy, too!"

Then Korkus and Pfeifi sing another song.

Craft tips

  • The pages will be bound to a book. (Tip: binding, e.g. in a copy shop,
  • before glueing) The spiral binding should be extremely loose in order to have enough clearance for the items and for turning the pages over.
  • Let a plastic folio bind as protection cover before the first and after the last page.
  • For some children more robust card boards might be proper. If those cannot be bound, you can also file them in a folder.
  • The texts are to be cut out and glued onto the pages.
  • Once the book is opened, the texts shall always be on the left page, the figures and objects always on the right page.
  • For blind children it is suitable to have the texts translated into Braille and to glue the Braille text in addition to the black scripture.
  • The objects are to be glued onto the pages with power adhesive and Scotch tape.
  • For partially sighted children it is recommended to design the books visually stimulating and rich in contrast.
